Newsletter - April 2026
New Website
Hello everyone,
I’m delighted to be writing to you with our latest newsletter. From now on, we’ll aim to keep you updated around the middle of each month.
In this edition, I’d like to introduce the new Executive team, highlight our newly updated website, and share a little about what we’ve been doing—and where we’re heading in 2026.
Freedom Alliance Executive Team
As shared in our previous email, Catherine Evans has stepped down as Party Leader after more than two years of dedicated work and tireless activism. I have now taken on the role.
Many of you will be familiar with Catherine’s contribution, and will know the energy and commitment she brought to moving the party forward. We are hugely grateful for everything she has done and wish her all the very best as she steps back from the Executive team.
The new Executive team is as follows:
Party Leader & Treasurer – Martin Davies
Deputy Leader – Earl Jesse
Chairwoman – Anne Ward-Pugh
Nominating Officer – Ian Ward-Pugh
Operations & Communications Officer – Ian Ward-Pugh
General & Membership Secretary – Sarah Davies
Policy Development Co-ordinator – Gwyneth Rolph
If you would like to contact any member of the team, please email info@freedomalliance.co.uk, including the intended recipient in the subject line. We would be very pleased to hear from you.
Website Update
Our website address remains the same:
https://freedomalliance.co.uk/
However, it has undergone a full refresh, including updated branding, expanded policy information, and new sections for blogs and our upcoming Freedom Friday vodcasts - the new site launches tomorrow!
While the issues that led to the formation of Freedom Alliance remain important, we also recognise that the political landscape continues to evolve. We believe it is increasingly important that a libertarian, localist voice is available to voters across Britain—both locally and nationally.
Over the coming months, we’ll be continuing to build our campaigns, strengthen our online presence, and prepare for future elections. We’ll share more on this in the next newsletter.
Election Campaigns
Many of you will remember that we stood over 50 candidates in the 2023 local elections, and 5 candidates in the 2024 general election.
Since then, the political landscape has shifted, with some independent candidates choosing to stand under different banners such as Reform. Freedom Alliance has not been immune to this changing environment.
So we’re very pleased to be supporting candidates in both the Scottish MSP elections and English local council elections on May 7th.
In Scotland, we’ve taken advantage of Royal Mail’s free election mailing to reach over 43,000 voters—an important step in sharing our message more widely.
We look forward to the results, especially as voters are being presented with an increasing number of candidate choices.
Focus for 2026
Our central focus remains the protection of personal freedoms, and on saying No to Digital ID in all of its formats - we cannot let this country slide into Techno-authoritarianism, built on scans and digital IDs and zero trust.
We believe it is important that any future systems work for everyone—both those who are unable to access digital tools and those who choose not to use them.
Alongside this, we’ll be expanding our social media, blogs and vodcasts to explore current issues and share our perspective.
We have our principles
We are finalising our policies
We will stick to them
We look forward to continuing this journey with you.
And we hope more people—friends, family, colleagues—will take the time to learn about what we stand for and consider being part of it.
At its principled and un-sponsored heart, Freedom Alliance is about supporting independent, grassroots voices that reflect both local concerns and national priorities.
With thanks for your continued support.
Martin Davies & the Freedom Alliance Executive Team
PS - hope to see many of you at the latest No to Digital ID rallies coming up next weekend.
This government is forcing Digital ID on us all via One Login. They have not U-turned and are bringing it in however they can get away with it.
