How good is the NHS?
30th July - 2nd August
Radio silence on the blog for the last few days as Martin headed in for minor ankle surgery at his local hospital. Put paid to campaigning for a few days, but opened his eyes to just how good the service is, once you actually get there.
One year from initial consultation to surgery - but how good were the multi-cultural staff. From the Turkish anesthesioligist, to the Arabic junior doctor, the (very) local nurse, and the first class surgeon (a young Hugh Grant if you want a visualisation). All of them excellent, all providing a great service, and all doing the very best they can for the patients.
We still need a fully functioning NHS, free at point of use. Not so sure we need the middle management bureaucrats…..
